Recent Events

The boys had more basketball this weekend. It can be a frustrating sport, especially at this level. Ian's team dropped their game Saturday, so they are now 2-2. Ian's team is really lacking in the point guard position so if the opposing team has a good defender they tend to turn the ball over a lot. This was one of those cases, so Ian had very few chances on the offensive end and when he did get the ball he normally was double or triple teamed. Evan's rec league had a very good game Saturday and improved their record to 3-1. This was in spite of the fact that they had one of their best player absent for the game. Evan had some good scores and defense. Today Evan's city team played and once again lost. The problem with this team is both in the point guard position and in the coaching. Most of the teams they are facing have paid coaches, while ours are volunteer dads. Our team had a very hard time dealing with the full court press they faced and turned the ball over countless times. Evan however played fairly well, scoring 4 of the teams 8 and getting lots of jump balls, steals and blocks.
The other thing about basketball is it is extremely difficult to photograph. Ian's team always plays at the same gym and it is extremely dark, making good photos very tough to get. Evan's team plays in different venues so it depends. So anyway here are any that I thought worth saving. Hope everyone has a great week.
